TECHNICAL
SPECIFICATIONS
THE DART BOARD
The
Dartboard shall be of a Brand name.
INSTALLATION/MEASUREMENTS
The
height from the playing floor to the center of the cork shall be
sixty-three (63) inches. The
distance from the front of the board to the play line is eighty-five
(85) inches. Prior to the season, the board must be in a condition
that will last throughout the season, especially the innings one (1)
through ten (10). The league may inspect the boards before the start
of the season to check the condition and dimensions. If the board is
found to be out 1”or more either way the board must be adjusted to
conform with league rules. No
board may be changed once the season has started. The board must
have adequate lighting and not reflect in the players’ line of
vision.
THE
DART
The
darts used in all play will be the Official Tournament No. 1 from
the Widdy Dart Manufacturing Co. of Philadelphia.
The home team will be responsible for supplying three (3) new
darts each week, plus three extra darts in good condition in case
one or more should become damaged.
The darts can be purchased through the league.
THE GAME
The
game shall consist of the innings one (1) through nine (9).
Three practice darts will be allowed to be thrown at the
board below the cork at the beginning of the match; and only for the
new players in the game. The
first player of the visiting team shall begin the game by throwing
three (3) darts at the first inning. One point will be awarded for
any darts landing in the larger white section of the inning; 2
points each for any darts in the red, and three points each for any
darts in the thin white sector.
The blue does not count.
The
home team has the option to either supply a caller for the game or
state you call your own with the next shooter checking the score for
accuracy, the shooter who shot may ask for assistance.
No one
may touch or remove the darts until the caller announces the score.
Players violating this rule will lose their score.
Only the Captains can dispute a discrepancy.
The second player in the line-up repeats the shots, the
third, and so on until all 5 players shoot.
The home team repeats this process until the nine-inning game
is complete. In the
event of a tie, the tenth (10th) inning will be used to
break it. In the event
the total score for the match is tie, any player that has shot in
any of the three games may shoot the tenth inning.
To begin the 2nd game the home team will shoot
first.
The player shooting must have some part of his/her foot touching the
playing line; the toe or heel but cannot advance over this line.
Such an incident shall result in that players score in that
inning be void. Should a
player shoot out of turn or shoot the wrong inning, the score for
that inning shall be voided. Should
a team begin the match with less than 5 players, and additional
players arrive after the match begins, they may be permitted to
begin play in the inning in progress; but they will be given no
score for the innings missed.
